FAccT’s sixth iteration – which follows last year’s event in Seoul, South Korea - will see thought leaders from a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds assemble to discuss the potential impact of AI on democratic values, how to balance the technology’s benefits with its inherent risks and responsibly harness its transformative power.
Through a unique multidisciplinary program of keynotes, tutorials, and paper sessions, the summit will address the biggest ethical and governance issues faced by industry and the public sector alike, all while promoting FAccT’s core values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Research previously presented at FAccT on issues such as algorithmic bias, the risks of large language models, and the democratic dangers posed by AI-proliferated misinformation has contributed to regulatory decisions and debates worldwide.
Attendees will be able to take in the conference either virtually or in person, with all keynotes and tutorials streamed live via the Hopin platform, while paper sessions will be reserved for those physically visiting the conference in Chicago.
