Our mission is to make sure AI can be trusted to deliver on its potential for society. That means giving every organisation the tools to see, test and govern the AI it depends on — before a regulator, a journalist or a customer asks.

Our story

From a university question to an AI governance platform

Holistic AI grew out of academic research into algorithmic auditing. That origin still shapes how we work: rigorous, evidence-first and close to the people writing the rules.

2020

Born in a research lab

Our co-founders, Dr Adriano Koshiyama and Dr Emre Kazim, met in University College London’s algorithmic-auditing research community — one from machine learning, one from philosophy and ethics. They asked a simple question: who checks the algorithms?

Early days

Audits before software

We started by auditing real systems by hand — hiring tools, credit models, recommender engines. Every audit taught us what a governance programme actually needs, and what spreadsheets can’t do.

Policy

A seat at the table

Our work is part of the OECD’s catalogue of tools for trustworthy AI, and we hold observer status with the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence.

Platform

From audits to a platform

Everything we learned became one AI governance platform: discover every AI system, assess it for bias and risk, and prove compliance with the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF.

Agents, and a Magic Quadrant

We launched Guardian Agents to govern autonomous AI and were named a Challenger in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for AI Governance Platforms.

    Do I need AI governance experience?

    No. Many of us came from machine learning, security, law, consulting or product. We look for people who learn quickly and care about getting AI right.

    Where do you work from?

    Headquartered in the United States, we have offices in London, India, and Brazil.

    Can I use AI tools in my application?

    Yes, as you would at work. We’ll ask you to explain your thinking in conversation, so make sure the ideas are yours.

    How long does the process take?

    Most processes take a few weeks from first call to offer. We’ll tell you the timeline at the start and keep you updated at each step.

    How do I know a message is really from Holistic AI?

    Genuine emails come only from @holisticai.com addresses. We will never ask you for payment or bank details during hiring, and we never interview over instant messaging.
