Join our next Policy Hour webinar on 27 June 2023 where we will discuss the Digital Services Act (DSA), a pivotal piece of legislation enacted by the European Commission to increase algorithmic transparency among tech companies. Effective from 16 November 2022, this legislation mandates tech companies to undertake critical responsibilities like conducting comprehensive risk assessments and implementing robust mitigation strategies while subjecting them to rigorous independent algorithmic audits.

With less than a year remaining until the enforcement date of 17 February 2024, the webinar will highlight these key areas:

  • Critical responsibilities of managing illegal content, providing transparent advertising and mitigating disinformation.
  • Implications for Very LargeOnline Platforms (VLOPs) and Very Large Online Search Engines (VLOSEs) such as Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Store, Booking.com, Zalando, Bing, and Google Search.

Our webinar explores the DSA's impact on social media platforms, user-centric communities, and advertising-driven online services. We emphasize algorithmic accountability, content moderation, and the audit framework introduced on 6 May 2023. Join us as we unpack the implications of these new audit procedures and discuss how they shape the landscape for these online platforms.
